BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Geneva College men's tennis team completed its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) schedule on Thursday night at Blackhawk Courts, and the Golden Tornadoes came out on the short end of a match against Waynesburg, losing 8-1. Waynesburg improved to 7-4, 3-2 in the PAC, while Geneva fell to 6-8, 2-5 in the PAC.
Geneva's lone point of the night came in #2 doubles, as sophomore
Drake Greenstein (Austin, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) and junior
Alex Greissinger (Erie, Pa./Northwest PA Collegiate Academy) came back from a 6-2 deficit to win 8-6.
There were a number of close matches in singles action, with both Greissinger and freshman
Josiah Shaver (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) losing in third set tiebreakers.
"We had our chances in doubles today," said Head Coach
Mandee Craft. "We also put up a good fight in singles play, but Waynesburg played better in the later stages of matches."
Geneva finishes its regular season with a home non-conference match on Saturday against Pitt-Greensburg starting at 1:00 p.m.
