NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The long-awaited Geneva cross country season finally began on Friday night as both the women's and men's teams opened up the defense of their respective Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) titles at the Westminster Fisher Invite. The women ran first and took second place overall, finishing with 47 points, over 50 points ahead of third-place Waynesburg. Multiple PAC schools competed in the race.

Junior Audrey McAlister was the top performer for the women, taking fourth place overall and running the 5k race in 20:19.86. Sophomore Nicole Ochs and senior Mara Myers each finished in the top 10 as well, earning eighth and ninth place, respectively. Senior Lydia Nagel took 12^th overall with a time of 21:31.94, with the fifth Geneva finisher, sophomore Hope Haring, coming in just two seconds behind her in 14^th place to round out the Golden Tornadoes' scoring.

The women will have just over a week to rest up before competing again, as they travel to central PA next Saturday, September 12, to compete in the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational. That race is set to begin at 10:45 a.m.
