After finishing up his last season as the Track and Field Head Coach, Brian Yowler has stepped down into a supporting role for Head Track and Field Coach, Phil Thompson. Yowler expanded his passion for long distance running in 2009 when he was hired as the track and field head coach in addition to his role as the head coach for the men and women's cross country programs along with his duties as a professor at Geneva.

“I had a lot of fun interacting these past five years with diverse events within the track and field arena. Thompson will be able to take this program even further with his experience in sprint events while I support him and the program with my passion for distance running.” Yowler is still very active in his own racing life as he continues to push himself through over a dozen marathons a counting.

Yowler graduated from IUP in 1994 before heading to the Penn State University College of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State in 2002. He continues to work as a professor in Geneva's Biology department.
