Chris Lucas

Chris Lucas was hired by Geneva as the Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field Coach in the summer of 2025. He is entering his second year with the program in 2026-27 after helping lead the Golden Tornadoes to six PAC championships in his first season (men's and women's cross country and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track & field). Chris handles many of the recruiting responsibilities for the cross country and track & field programs.

Prior to coming to Geneva, Chris was the hurdles coach at North Central (MN) University in the 2024-25 season, helping lead the men's and women's programs to their highest finish in the UMAC Outdoor Championships in program history. While there, one of his hurdlers, Joyce Horton, won the 100-meter hurdles at the UMAC Outdoor Championships, the first time in school history that had happened. He came to North Central (MN) after serving as the Head Coach of Velocity Xpress Track Club in 2023-24, where he coached multiple runners that went on to compete at the Division I level.

Chris began his coaching career as an assistant at Tallahassee State from 2021-24, where he led multiple athletes to qualify for the NJCAA National Championships, both in cross country and track & field.

Chris earned an M.S. in Sports Management from Florida A&M University in 2022, and a B.A. in Journalism and Communication from Wartburg College in 2021. He ran track for Wartburg from 2017-2021, and was a member of Wartburg's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship-winning team his senior season.

Chris is originally from Tallahassee, Florida, and he currently lives in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
