Patience Baker

Assistant Coach - Patience Baker

Patience Baker is the Assistant Coach for the 2017-18 women’s basketball season. Baker enters her third year on the Golden Tornadoes coaching staff.

“I’m very excited,” said Baker. “My first season with Geneva I was ready to jump in and go—take our program to another level and that carries over into this season. I have the same mindset, I have the title change but nothing has changed; my goals and expectations are the same.”

Under the guidance of Wynn and Baker, the 2015-16 Golden Tornadoes reached a milestone, achieving the program’s first appearance in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference post-season.

“I love working with Lori,” said Baker. “We work so well together. I don’t know if she knew while I was going through the whole interview process but our styles and personalities allow us to work so well together. And that is still going on—we connect every day, we are still communicating and we are on the same page.”

Baker had a stellar collegiate career starting as freshmen at South Carolina State. After completing two seasons at NCAA Division I South Carolina State, she transferred closer to her hometown (Columbus, Georgia) to play point guard for Fort Valley State (GA). She graduated from Fort Valley State with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. Baker became a Graduate Assistant at Waynesburg University after locating to Pennsylvania with her husband who works in Washington, PA as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.

“My hope for this season is that I can continue what coach Wynn started seven years ago,” explains Baker. “That when she comes back 100 percent that we are 100 percent as well.”
