Geneva College Athletics

Chris Mathews was named Sports Information Director (SID) in the fall of 2017.  Mathews graduated from Geneva College in 2000 and was involved heavily in the sports information department during his four years in school.  He maintained a presence in the department over the years as a statistical liaison for both football and basketball, and he also did radio for the men's and women's basketball programs for a number of years.  Because of his familiarity with the athletic department and his love for Geneva College, he was a natural fit to take over the position when it opened up.

"Chris' passion for athletics, his love of Geneva College and his unwavering support for the Golden Tornadoes made him an excellent choice for our Sports Information Director. He bleeds Geneva black and gold and is an absolutely perfect fit for our department and for the College. I am overjoyed that we were able to bring Chris into our Geneva family."

Chris is married to Colleen, who is also a 2000 graduate of Geneva, and they have five children: Katelyn (19), who attends Geneva, and Titus (16), Lydia (14), Elise (12) and Caleb (9).  They reside on nearby College Hill.
