Jason Wargo

Jason Wargo returned to Geneva in the spring of 2025 to take over the offensive coordinator position for the Golden Tornadoes, his third stint as an assistant with the program.

Wargo graduated from Geneva in 1995 after a strong player as an offensive lineman for the Golden Tornadoes.  He was also a standout thrower for the Geneva track and field team.

Wargo began his first stint as an assistant football coach in 2000, his first of two prior tenures with the football program over the next 15 years.  He was primarily responsible for the offensive line and tight ends during those stretches.  He also served as the associate head coach for the track and field program during one of those stints, as well as serving as a physical fitness instructor.

After leaving Geneva in 2014, Wargo spent six years as a coach in the Franklin Area High School football program, serving as an offensive coordinator, a defensive coordinator and a special teams coordinator at various times.  He also served as the Franklin Head Track and Field Coach for three seasons.

Most recently, Wargo worked as the Head Football Coach at Maplewood High School from 2022-24, guiding the program to two playoff berths.

Wargo and his wife, Rachel, who is also a Geneva graduate, have two children, Maylee and Maryanne.
