Leah Kirkland began working part-time in Geneva’s athletic training office in the fall of 2024 before transitioning into a full-time role ahead of the 2026-27 school year. The upcoming year will mark her third season as a staff member with Geneva’s athletic department.
Leah is a local, originally hailing from Beaver Falls. She graduated from Duquesne University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training before working as a campus minister with the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), serving at Slippery Rock from 2017-2018 and then Carnegie Mellon from 2018-23. In the fall of 2023, she decided to enroll in Geneva’s Higher Education master’s program, and in 2025 she graduated from Geneva with a Master of Arts in Higher Education. She currently lives in Bellevue, PA.
When asked why she loves athletic training, Leah said: “The field of athletic training offers a unique avenue in partnering with God and His healing work in the world. Athletic trainers not only provide solidarity to those who are experiencing hardships and challenges, but we get to celebrate with people all that they accomplish and overcome. It's a wonderful model of God's redemption and restoration by which our ultimate hope will find its glad fruition.”
