Mike DeChellis is the longest tenured assistant coach in Geneva athletics history and was inducted into the Geneva Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024. Beginning his tenure with the Golden Tornadoes’ football team in 1987 when he helped lead Geneva to the NAIA national semi-finals, DeChellis continued to coach on the gridiron for the better part of the next 30 years. Doing most of his work as Geneva’s offensive coordinator, DeChellis helped guide some of the most prolific offensive attacks in the country. A stand-out coach on the basketball court, DeChellis spent a short stint on the sidelines as an assistant for Geneva’s women’s basketball team. He has spent the last two seasons on the men’s basketball bench and played a large role in helping lead Geneva to its first PAC title in 2024.
