The President’s Win at Home to Split Season Series
Washington, PA- Earlier in the season, the Geneva College Volleyball team won against Washington and Jefferson 3-2 playing in Beaver Falls. However the President's were victorious on its home court when Geneva dropped the three set loss (25-20, 25-17, 25-17) to split the season series 1-1 Thursday night. The Golden Tornadoes are now 9-17 in season play while performing at 7-5 in Presidents' Athletic Conference competition.
The Golden Tornadoes were not able to get much offense going in the match as the President's were able to overcome the visitors in almost every category. Geneva had 28 kills and 79 digs in comparison to the hosts 35 kills and 88 digs. Senior
Erica Hughes led the way in attacks with 10 kills and 1 ace. Defensively she contributed with 13 digs. Freshman defensive specialist
Grace Holdeman led the defensive numbers with 20 digs.
Daphne Hunsinger has made herself a home in the setter position this season for the Golden Tornadoes, walking away from the contest with 21 assists.
Allyssa Kerr did her best in the middle of the net to earn 5 blocks for the night.
With no time to do much in the way of recovery, Geneva will turn around to host Grove City College on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. where it will honor its lone senior
