Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva women's soccer team was not able to build on its previous home turf success as it dropped a conference match to the visiting Washington and Jefferson College Presidents 5-0. The Golden Tornadoes will continue on with their season with a 4-9 overall record, 1-4 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

Geneva showed some promise in the opening minutes of play as freshman defender Calista Ulmer got a shot off ten minutes into the game. Freshman forward Erin Houser earned a corner kick shortly following the shot.

The Presidents started to create an offensive presence in the game as they forced sophomore goalkeeper Dani Lincoln to make back to back saves in the middle of the first half. W&J maintained much of the possession in the remaining minutes of play in the first half. Their aggressive play paid off with a goal in the final minute of the first half for the 1-0 score.

The Presidents picked up right back up where they left off with a quick goal in the opening two minutes of the second half for the 2-0 score. In the 63rd minute of the match, W&J finished its third goal. Goals four and five for the visitors came in the last ten minutes of the match for the final 5-0 score.

The Presidents outshot the Golden Tornadoes 17-3 and forced Lincoln to make 8 saves.

The Golden Tornadoes will head off to Kentucky this upcoming Tuesday for a face off against the number one team in the PAC, the Thomas More Saints. Their kick off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. after the men's program play at 2:30 p.m.
