Top Competition Overcomes Geneva
Grove City, PA – The Geneva College women's tennis team was handed a 9-0 defeat by the top team in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), the Grove City Wolverines. Geneva will head into the PAC championship tournament with an overall record of 12-3, 6-3 in conference.
"We fought hard today and put up a great fight," said head coach
Mandee Craft. "The scores do not reflect the fight. This was a good warm up for PACs."
Despite being the most success in her singles play,
Grace Moyer dropped her first match of the season 6-2, 6-2 in third singles. She and her doubles partner
Jana Newberry lost their match 8-1.
Rachel Letterman and
Sara Stoll gave a determined effort in first doubles, but were only able to secure a 8-5 match loss.
This weekend in Erie, PA will be the host of the women's tennis championship meet. The two day tournament will begin on Friday, October 20
