Men’s Soccer Road Game Ends the Streak
Crestview Hills, KY – The Thomas More College Saints men's soccer team ended a historic streak for the Golden Tornadoes on Tuesday when it defeated the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes at home 2-1. The loss was the first conference loss for the squad since 2015 when it lost to Westminster College in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) final in a shootout. The loss drops the Golden Tornadoes to a 10-3-2 overall, 4-1-1 in conference action. The Saints will continue their season with an overall record of 10-4-1, 5-0 in conference action.
The Saints made their mark on the scoreboard in the first forty nine seconds of play after they were able to take advantage of a breakaway. Less than eight minutes later, the home squad was again able to mark the scoreboard by splitting the defense and hitting the back post.
Despite keeping possession and having some offensive opportunities, the Golden Tornadoes were only able to mark the scoreboard one time in the last sixty seconds of play when Devaughn Johns was able to put one past the keeper on an assist from Kevin Pasho.
Geneva was outshot 18-13, 10 of its shots were on frame. Luke Nolan had five saves in the contest.
The Golden Tornadoes will attempt to begin a new win streak when they host Thiel College on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
