Beaver Falls, PA – After traveling to Kentucky earlier this week, the Geneva College women's soccer team returned to Beaver Falls to hand the visiting Thiel College Tomcats a 5-0 conference loss. With all of their wins occurring on the home turf, the Golden Tornadoes are now 5-3 at home. Overall the team is 5-10, 2-5 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action.

Junior Justice Newland started off the scoring with her unassisted goal in the opening thirteen minutes of play for her first goal of the season. Four minutes later Megan Schoeneweis scored her fourth goal of the season off the assist of freshman forward Erin Houser for the 2-0 score. Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the rest of the opening half.

Houser was not done adding her portion to the offensive movement; she scored her sixth goal of the season off the corner kick of Schoenewies to start second half scoring with the 3-0 score. Schoenewies scored her second goal of the match in the 56th minute before Erica Sumner capped off scoring with her unassisted goal for the 5-0 final.

Geneva out shot its opponents 29-9. Dani Lincoln had 4 saves in the contest.

Geneva will head to its last away game of the season on Wednesday, October 26 at 6:00 pm when it faces Waynesburg University.
