McNulty Leads Geneva to Victory
Greenville, PA – Sydney McNulty was clearly out for a win as she led her team onto the court to face Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Thiel College. With 21 kills and three aces on the evening, McNulty's dominance on the court led the way to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-26) victory over the Tomcats. The win brings Geneva's record to 12-18, 10-6 in the PAC. Thiel's record moves to 10-15, 4-10 in the PAC.
Set one started out strong for the Golden Tornadoes as they earned a quick 6-2 lead. Despite a hard fight by the Tomcats, Geneva went on a hot streak with
McKenna Shick on the service line, increasing its 15-9 lead to 24-9. After Thiel laid down two quick points to fend off the set point, McNulty got the kill to finish the set 25-11.
Set two proved a tougher fight as the teams stayed within five points of each other for the entire set. Two final kills by McNulty and

Near continuous lead changes demonstrated the close match up of the teams in set three. Things began to look grim for Geneva as Thiel pulled the biggest lead of the game at 20-15 but McNulty's strong arm proved the turning point the team needed. A six point streak gained the lead for Geneva with Bobbie Anne Theiss at the service line. The momentum shift was enough to keep Geneva in the game, forcing the set into extra points before
Allyssa Kerr's service ace claimed the 26-24 victory.
McNulty's 21 kills led the offense for the GT's, followed by Hughes with 12.
Daphne Hunsinger supported the powerhouse offense with 23 assists.
Hughes led the defense with 19 digs followed closely by freshman
Grace Holdeman with 17.
