Waynesburg Defeats Geneva on the Road
Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to conference rival Waynesburg University. Geneva will head into senior night with an overall record of 5-11, 2-6 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
Sophomore
Erica Sumner opened scoring for the night in the 25
th minute when she was able to clip a shot in through the box to give Geneva the 1-0 lead. In the first half, Geneva was out shot by its host 6-4, but persisted to keep the lead heading into the half.
Waynesburg continued its efforts and found the back of the net twice for the 2-1 final score. The Golden Tornadoes did not back down as they outshot their opponents 9-5 in second half action.
Dani Lincoln finished the night with four saves.
Saturday night will wrap up the season for the squad when they host conference rival Chatham University for a 7:30 p.m. kick off. That night, the program will recognize lone senior
Kelsey Ingold for her soccer career here at Geneva College.
