Volleyball Drops Season Finale at Bethany
Bethany, WV—On Saturday afternoon the Geneva College volleyball team wrapped up its regular season by dropping a road match to Bethany College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-18). The loss dropped Geneva's overall record to 12-20, 10-8 in the Presidents' Athletics Conference (PAC). Bethany improved to 21-11, 12-6 in the PAC.
Alyssa Kerr led the team with 7 kills, while Erica Hughes added 6 kills. Hughes also added 20 digs and 3 aces. Alexis Jordan and Daphne Hunsinger also helped defensively with 14 digs apiece. Hunsinger once again led the team with 20 assists.
The loss finishes off a long five game season-ending road trip for the Golden Tornadoes, and the loss also drops them to the #5 seed in the upcoming PAC tournament. Unfortunately for Geneva, that means their time away from Metheny Fieldhouse continues with a road trip to #4 seeded Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday, October 31, at 7:00 p.m. If Geneva wins, they would head west to face #1 seed Thomas More in the PAC semifinals.
