Women’s Tennis Starts Year Off Perfect; 9-0 Over Bethany
Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva College Women's Tennis team cranked out a perfect 9-0 score at Bethany College on Wednesday, August 30 to start the 2017 season. Although a conference opponent, the match was played as a non-conference competition, raising Geneva's overall record to 1-0, remaining 0-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
"This was definitely a solid start to the season," said head coach
Mandee Craft. "It is always fun to get a 9-0 win and start building confidence."
PAC Players to Watch, sophomore
Rachael Letterman (Moon, PA/Moon) and senior
Sara Stoll (Norwalk, OH/Norwalk) tabbed an 8-1 win in first doubles. Letterman proceeded to mark a 6-1, 6-1 win in first singles. Stoll earned her second singles match in 6-0, 6-0 fashion.
Victoria Hinds (Montrose, PA/Montrose) also showcased a perfect 6-0, 6-0 in fourth singles.
On Friday, September 1 the Golden Tornadoes will debut their season home opener at Bradys Run Courts. Geneva is set to host Mount Aloysius starting at 6 p.m.
