Geneva Extends Win Streak in Conference Opener
Beaver Falls, Pa. – The Golden Tornadoes started off competition in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) right. Geneva defeated the visiting Bethany Bison 9-0, raising the GTs perfect record to 5-0, 1-0 in the PAC.
The singles lineup swept through their contests highlighting perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins by
Victoria Hinds (fourth singles) and
Felicity Orndoff (fifth singles).
Rachael Letterman took on the first singles responsibilities (6-4, 6-3) followed by
Sara Stoll at second (6-1, 6-0),
Grace Moyer (6-2, 6-0) in third singles and
Michelle Kisiel in the six spot (6-1, 6-1).
The three dynamic duos included Letterman and Stoll (8-2) at first doubles, Moyer and
Jana Newberry (8-1) holding down the second doubles and
Laura Anderson and
Rebekah Locke (8-3) in third doubles.
Geneva will have a quick turnaround, returning to Blackhawk courts tomorrow at 1 p.m. against Frostburg State University. Geneva will test its ability on the road against conference foe Washington & Jefferson next week on Wednesday, September 20th.
