Geneva Freezes Out Frostburg
Beaver Falls, PA – Despite the unusually warm weather, Geneva served up an icy game day for the visiting Bobcats. Geneva won every game of the day, improving its perfect season to 6-0, 1-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). The loss for Frostburg balances their record to 1-1.
Rachael Letterman and
Sara Stoll started out the victorious day in first doubles with an 8-1 victory quickly followed by second doubles pair
Grace Moyer and
Jana Newberry's blowout 8-0 win.
Laura Anderson and
Rebekah Locke closed out the partner play in third doubles with an 8-4 win.
Singles faired just as well for the Golden Tornadoes, lead again by
Rachael Letterman in first singles and second singles
Sara Stoll, both claiming 8-2 victories.
Grace Moyer didn't lose a single point on the day, earning an 8-0 victory in third singles.
Victoria Hinds took Moyer's example earning her perfect 8-0 win.
Felicity Orndoff and
Laura Anderson closed out the perfect day for Geneva in fifth and sixth singles, completing 8-3 wins.
Geneva will look to extend their perfect record as they return to the court for PAC play on Wednesday, September 20 as they visit Washington and Jefferson, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The GT's return home on Monday, September 25 to face conference rival Westminster College.
