The Streak Hits Seven; Geneva Snaps Four Year Skid to W&J
Washington, Pa. – It has been four years since the Golden Tornadoes defeated the Washington & Jefferson Presidents. On Wednesday Geneva snapped the program's losing streak to the PAC foe and continued its, now seven match, hot streak on the road. The Golden Tornadoes swept the Presidents in a stellar 9-0 fashion. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory raises Geneva's overall record to 7-0, 2-0 in the PAC, lowering W&J's overall record to 2-4, 0-2 in the PAC.

"To get a 9-0 win against a program like W&J is extremely encouraging," said head coach Mandee Craft. "Two of our doubles teams were down early but battled back, which gave us a huge boost heading into singles."

Rachael Letterman and Sara Stoll led the charge in first doubles. The duo clinched an 8-6 decision. Grace Moyer and Jana Newberry sealed an 8-3 win in second doubles while Victoria Hinds and Laura Anderson earned an 8-2 win in the third spot.

Letterman and Stoll each battled long into the night for their singles wins. Letterman edged first singles opponent 6-4, 3-6, 10-8. Stoll took the tiebreaker in second singles; 6-2, 7-6, 12-10.
In third singles, Grace Moyer tallied a 6-3, 6-3 sweep. Hinds posted a perfect fourth singles match going 6-0, 6-0 over her opponent.

PAC Rookie of the Week, Felicity Orndoff, showcased a 6-0, 6-1 win in fifth singles. Michelle Kisiel's sixth singles 6-4, 6-2 mark served the GTs the perfect 9-0 team sweep.

Geneva remains to the road in non-conference action at Penn State Behrend on Saturday, September 23 at noon. The Golden Tornadoes return home at the Blackhawk courts on Monday, September 25 to face all-time rival Westminster starting at 6:00 p.m.
