Second Half Woes Hand Geneva 3-1 Road Loss
Erie, Pa. – Geneva held a 1-0 halftime lead despite being outshot 7-4. The Golden Tornadoes' early goal fell short at Penn State Behrend Thursday night. The Lions offense continued pressure tallying six more shots to Geneva's three. Geneva buckled, surrendering three goals within 15 minutes of each other. The 3-1 loss lowers Geneva's overall record to 4-2-1 while the Lions raise their record to 5-3.
David McKinley opened the scoring on a feed from
Liam O'Halloran in the eighth minute. The scoreboard remained untouched until the 71
st minute. The Lions equalized the board off a one touch corner kick finish. With a renewed energy, the hosts netted two more goals to clinch the game.
Adam Voelker faced 13 shots, saving four but was forced to take the loss.
Geneva looks to Muskingum on Saturday, September 23 to end a three game win drought. The weekend's non-conference action is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. on College Hill.
