Beaver Falls, PA – Play-off time can sometimes mean nervous time for some teams. On Tuesday night, the Geneva College women's volleyball team was certainly experiencing some post-season nervousness early on against Grove City in the Presidents' Athletic Conference quarter-finals. After spotting the Wolverines the first set, Geneva shook off the nerves and responded with wins in the next three sets to beat Grove City 3-1 with set scores of 14-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.
"If our women didn't have some nervousness in the play-offs, I would be concerned," said head coach
Wendy Smith. "We always expect some anxiety early in these matches but the way they responded after the first set was really good to see. We have responded well several times in the last few weeks and it's a good sign that we can do so. Moving on, however, it will important to get off to a better start and play solid volleyball from start to finish."
