Geneva Defeats Thiel on Senior Day

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – On Saturday night the Geneva College men's tennis team welcomed the Thiel Tomcats to Brady's Run Indoor Courts, and the Golden Tornadoes also took the opportunity to celebrate their seniors, and they did so in style with a 6-3 win.  Geneva's record improved to 12-1 overall, 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while Thiel fell to just 0-2 overall, 0-1 in the PAC.

Geneva started slowly in doubles, with just the #2 doubles team of sophomore Alex Greissinger and freshman Drake Greenstein picking up a win.

Geneva fared much better in singles, as freshman Nate Heidengren, junior Eric Abbott, seniors Ethan Stahl and Jesse Hooke, and Greissinger all picked up wins.

"We came out a little slowly today, but we picked it up in singles and got the job done," Head Coach Mandee Craft said.

Geneva celebrated seniors Stahl, Hooke, Caleb Hoal and David Streit on the evening, which is the first senior class to come through the program since Geneva restarted its program three years ago.

The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Grove City on Monday, April 9, for a match starting at 4:00 p.m.
