Men’s Tennis Drops Season-Opening Match at Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team, which plays most of its matches in the spring, opened play for the fall season at Waynesburg on Tuesday afternoon, dropping a 6-3 decision to the Yellow Jackets.  The match does not count towards the conference standings.

The men were only able to win won match during the doubles competition, with senior Kameron Donaldson (Claysville, Pa./McGuffey) and sophomore Jadon Hooke (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) earning an 8-3 win in #3 doubles.

In singles action, junior Jacques Guillembet (Ft. Myers, Fla./South Ft. Myers) won his match in #1 singles in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.  Freshman David Clark (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) also won his match in #5 singles 6-2, 6-1.

Geneva's only matches during the fall are this week, with the Golden Tornadoes playing three times.  The week will continue with a home match on Thursday against Westminster at 6:00 p.m., followed by a home match against Capital on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
