BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season on Saturday, the third match in five days for the Golden Tornadoes, and Capital came away with a 9-0 sweep of Geneva. Capital improved to 1-1, while Geneva dropped to 0-3.
The match was moved indoors to Brady's Run Indoor Courts due to rain, and Capital got off to a strong start by winning the three doubles matches 8-4, 8-5 and 8-6. Singles didn't go any better for the Golden Tornadoes, with no one able to come up with a victory.
"While the results this week may not have been what we were looking for, the bright side is that we've found some things to work on for the spring," said Head Coach Mandee Craft. "We've also found out that this team has a ton of fight and heart."
The main part of the men's tennis season will be held during the spring, with the next matches slated to begin sometime in late March.
