HOLLAND, Mich. --- The Geneva College women's basketball team lost to host Hope College in the first round of the Hope College Tip-off Tournament on Friday evening. The defending national champions beat the Golden Tornadoes, 143-57.
Sophomore Taylor Haring was the leading scorer for the Golden Tornadoes with 18 points. Freshman Madi Matthews also scored in double figures for Geneva with 12 points. Junior Mia San Nicolas topped the Tornadoes rebound list with nine rebounds and added seven points.
Geneva (0-2) will face Concordia University (Wisconsin) on Saturday, November 12 at 1 p.m. in the consolation game of the tournament. Concordia lost to Illinois Wesleyan, 86-38, in the first game of the tournament.
