Men’s Tennis Opens PAC Play with Tough Match at Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on Tuesday afternoon with a road match against the always tough Grove City Wolverines, and the Wolverines looked strong again in defeating Geneva 9-0.  The Golden Tornadoes are now 1-4 overall, 0-1 in the PAC, while Grove City improved to 6-2, 1-0 in the PAC.

Geneva earned just one point during the first three doubles matches, and things didn't improve any in singles play as the Golden Tornadoes were unable to pick up a victory in any of the flights.

"There's a reason Grove City won the conference last year," said Head Coach Mandee Craft.  "They are just solid all the way down, and they do a lot of things well.  Everyone found areas to work on, and we'll be ready for our next match."

The tennis team will be back in action on Monday when the Golden Tornadoes host Thiel for a 6:30 p.m. match at Blackhawk Courts.
