BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team dropped a match to Westminster on Tuesday afternoon at Brady's Run Indoor Courts, 6-3.  Geneva's record is now 3-7 overall, 0-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while Westminster improved to 8-3, 3-1 in the PAC.

Graduate student Nate Heidengren (Aliquippa, Pa./Beaver County Christian) and junior Jacques Guillembet (Ft. Myers, Fla./South Ft. Myers) won a tiebreaker 7-3 to win their match in #1 doubles, 8-7, but Westminster captured the other two doubles matches to take a lead into singles.

Heidengren again played well in #1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-4 to earn Geneva's second point.  Sophomore Jadon Hooke (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) came from behind in #5 singles to pull out a three-set win 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.  Senior Amos Luptak (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) nearly pulled out a win in #4 singles but lost a third-set tiebreaker.

"We knew from our fall match that Westminster was a tough team," said Head Coach Mandee Craft.  "We didn't have our best day in doubles, and that ended up being a big difference in the match."

Geneva gets right back in action tomorrow with a home match against Thiel at Blackhawk Courts at 6:00 p.m.
