BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team had to move its match with Pitt-Greensburg on Friday afternoon indoors to Brady's Run Indoor Courts because of rain in the area, but it didn't slow the Golden Tornadoes down as they defeated the Bobcats, 7-2, their second straight victory. Geneva's record is now 3-5 on the season.
Geneva picked up two points in the doubles portion of the match. Seniors Amos Luptak (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and Josiah Shaver (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) won in the #2 doubles, 8-1, while senior Kameron Dondaldson (Claysville, Pa./McGuffey) and sophomore Jadon Hooke (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) won 8-1 in #3 doubles.
Geneva also did well in singles play. Junior Jacques Guillembet (Ft. Myers, Fla./South Ft. Myers) won in #2 singles 6-2, 6-2. Shaver won in #3 singles 6-4, 6-0, while Luptak won in #4 singles 6-1, 6-0. Hooke won in #5 singles 6-0, 6-2, while sophomore Gavin Landis (Quarryville, Pa./Rift Valley Academy) won in #6 singles 6-3, 6-3.
Geneva will return to conference play on Monday with a match against Westminster scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Blackhawk Courts.
