BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College women's tennis team earned the shutout this evening, downing LaRoche, 9-0 at the Blackhawk Tennis Courts. The Golden Tornadoes improve to 2-0 on the season with the victory.
"Tonight's win was a lot of fun," said Geneva head coach 
Mandee Craft. "We got to experiment with a few things we are working on. It's great to see everyone stepping up and giving their best effort."
Geneva took an early 3-0 lead with a sweep of the doubles points. Each Geneva doubles team won its match 8-0, led by freshman 
Lauren Estes and senior 
Laura Lin Comollo at No. 1 doubles. Comollo picked up her second singles win of the season at No. 3 when her opponent retired the match due to injury. Comollo was up 6-0, 4-0 at the time of stoppage.
Estes also picked up the first singles victory of her rookie season at No. 1, 6-1, 6-1. 
CeJaelyn Perednia, also a freshman, earned her first win of the season at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Freshman 
Jenna Allison earned the second win of her season at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0, while classmate 
Leah Gloster saw her first action of the season at No. 6 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Sophomore 
Delaney Winterhalter rounded out the team scoring with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.
Geneva heads out on the road for back-to-back matches on Friday, Sept. 9 at Allegheny in Presidents' Athletic conference action and Saturday, Sept. 10 at Muskingum.
