BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team picked up another win on Tuesday night in its second of three fall matches, defeating conference opponent Waynesburg 7-2 on Blackhawk Courts. The official conference play does not start until the spring.
The men picked up two points in doubles play. Junior David Clark and sophomore Owen Landis combined to win #2 doubles, 8-1, while senior Nick Heidengren and freshman Thayne Bodenmiller paired to win #3 doubles, 8-0.
Geneva won five of the six singles matches. Landis earned a win in #2 singles 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Daniel Ray earned a 6-2, 6-3 win in #3 singles, while Heidengren won 6-2, 6-1 in #4 singles. Clark easily won #5 singles 6-0, 6-1, and Bodenmiller finished up singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 win in #6 singles.
"We played really well tonight at every position," said Head Coach Mandee Craft. "Our doubles teams got us off to a great start and our singles players were able to relax and play our game."
The men will wrap up their fall season next Tuesday, October 10, when they host Pitt-Greensburg for a 6:00 p.m. match.
