BEAVER FALLS, Pa. --- The Geneva men's tennis team evened their Presidents' Athletic Conference record on Thursday afternoon with an 8-1 win over Waynesburg at Brady's Run Outdoor Courts. The Golden Tornadoes are now 3-3 overall and 1-1 in PAC action.
Geneva jumped out to a 3-0 lead with wins at all three doubles courts.
Braiden Smalley and
Jacques Guillembet won No. 1 doubles, 8-4 while
David Clark and
Owen Landis took No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Jadon Hooke and
Daniel Ray needed an extra frame to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-7 (7-5).
Smalley also picked up a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. Guillembet won the No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-0, while Hooke took the No. 4 singles slot 6-1, 6-0.
Gavin Landis won the No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-2.
Jacob Zangas needed a third set for the win at No. 6 singles 6-1, 4-6, 10-5.
