ALTOONA, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team dropped a match at Penn State Altoona on Tuesday afternoon, falling to the Lions 6-1. The match is the third of four fall matches the men play during this semester, with the Golden Tornadoes now sitting at 1-2.
Altoona took all three doubles matches, though junior Braiden Smalley and senior David Clark pushed their opponents in No. 1 doubles before falling 7-5.
Smalley was impressive in No. 1 singles, winning 6-2, 6-2. Unfortunately, that was the only match Geneva could secure. Sophomore Thayne Bodenmiller did take his opponent to three sets in No. 5 singles before falling 3-6, 6-4, 6-10.
Geneva will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule next Friday when the men host Brevard College at Blackhawk Courts.
