BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team took advantage of the indoor courts at Brady's Run on a cold and rainy Friday evening, defeating visiting Pitt-Greensburg 7-0. Geneva wraps up the fall semester with a 2-3 record as the Golden Tornadoes prepare for the bulk of their schedule in the spring.
Geneva easily swept through the doubles portion of the match, winning the single doubles point. Junior Braiden Smalley and freshman Ben Busler won in No. 1 doubles, 6-0. Senior David Clark and sophomore Thayne Bodenmiller won in No. 2 doubles, 6-1, and freshmen Simon Burkett and Preston Daniels took No. 3 doubles, 6-3.
In singles play, Smalley swept his opponent in first flight 6-0, 6-0. Busler won 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 singles, while Clark took No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2. Bodenmiller swept his opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 4 singles, sophomore Ethan Mullen won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5 singles, and Burkett wrapped up the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 6 singles.
