BETHANY, W.Va. – The Geneva College men's volleyball team earned a road sweep at Bethany on Wednesday evening, defeating the Bison 25-15, 25-10, 25-14. The Golden Tornadoes improved their record to 11-9.
Geneva took command early against the first-year Bison program, scoring the first five points of the match behind a block from senior
Carter Milroy, an ace from junior
Matthew Thoman, and back-to-back kills from freshman
Owen Kelley and sophomore
Evan Puhl. Midway through the set, another run behind kills from Kelley, Thoman, freshman
Peter Samuelsen and junior
Decker Milroy extended the Geneva edge to 13-5. An ace from Kelley and a kill from
Carter Milroy helped the men finish off the set, 25-15.

Carter Milroy helped Geneva jump ahead 5-1 in the second set. Kills from Thoman and
Decker Milroy, followed by back-to-back blocks from
Carter Milroy, pushed the lead to 16-6 midway through, and kills from sophomore
Paul O'Donnell and Thoman finished off the set, 25-10.
The third set followed a similar script. Two early kills from Kelley, along with kills from Thoman, Samuelsen, O'Donnell and freshman
Alex Smith allowed Geneva to jump ahead 10-3. Two more kills from Thoman and a block from Puhl pushed the lead to 20-9, and kills from Puhl and
Decker Milroy enabled the Golden Tornadoes to close out the match, 25-14.
Kelley and Thoman led the offense with seven kills apiece as Geneva hit .247 as a team.

Grant Rice finished with seven digs each.
The men get back on the road for the fifth straight weekend coming up. Geneva heads to Wells (NY) on Saturday to open conference play with a match against Wells at 12:00 p.m., followed by a non-conference match against SUNY Potsdam at 2:00 p.m.
