CRESSON, Pa. – The women's tennis team won their second straight match to start the year, taking a 6-1 victory over the Mt. Aloysius College Mounties. As the GTs approach the start of conference play, they move to 2-0 on the season, while MAC drops to 0-2.
The day began with doubles play for both teams, with Geneva taking all three of the matches to win the point. Freshman

Lauren Estes won the #1-doubles match 6-0, with the #3-doubles team of junior
Jenna Allison and sophomore
Emma Kline also winning easily, 6-2. The #2-doubles match was the only close contest of the day, with junior
CeJaelyn Perednia and sophomore
Caroline Reed eking out a 7-6 victory.
DeSanzo won her top-flight singles match in straight sets, and Estes had no trouble in the #2-spot either, winning 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore
Rachel Hodsden had it a bit tougher in #3-singles but still managed to earn the win 6-3, 6-4. Allison and Perednia also gained wins in both the #5- and #6-singles matches, respectively. Sophomore
Isabel Kleiman suffered the only loss for Geneva in #4-singles.
"Another solid win as we head into conference play next week," said head coach
Mandee Craft after the match. "We know the competition will keep getting more difficult but we're ready to step up."
The women will play their first conference match against Westminster on Tuesday, with the event scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM on the Blackhawk courts.
