Men’s Cross Country Gears up for Championships at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio – With just two weeks remaining before the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Cross Country Championships, the Geneva men's cross country team prepared by competing at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday morning. The GTs took ninth place out of the 26 teams running in the meet, and more importantly, first among the six PAC schools present at the event.

Heading up the Golden Tornadoes' effort was senior Eli Eisenberger, who finished the race in a personal-best time of 25:59.2. That mark earned him 16th place overall at the Rumble, and second among all participating PAC runners. Finishing in second for Geneva was senior Tommy Corbin, who took 36th overall with a time of 26:26.6. Senior Karter Reath was the third finisher for the men and the final runner in the top 50, finishing the race in 46th place with a mark of 26:37.4.

Two sophomores rounded out the top five for Geneva, with Ethan Haring recording a time of 27:13.0 and Matt Otto finishing in 27:45.0.

The men will now set their sights on the PAC Championships, scheduled for Saturday, November 1st, just two weeks from today. They earned the top spot in the PAC Preseason Poll back in August and are looking to compete for the first championship in program history.
