Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men’s Tennis Falls at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Geneva College men's tennis team had several competitive matches on Thursday at Westminster, but the Titans prevailed in enough of them to defeat the Golden Tornadoes 5-2.  The men dropped to 2-6 on the season, 0-2 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

As has been the case for most of the season, junior Braiden Smalley and freshman Ben Busler prevailed in No. 1 doubles, 6-4.  However, Geneva lost the other two doubles matches and dropped the doubles point.

Smalley stayed undefeated on the season in singles play, easily winning his match in No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0.  Busler pulled out a third-set win in No. 2 singles 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.  Sophomores Thayne Bodenmiller and Ethan Mullen dropped three-set matches in No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

"We had our chances again today," said Head Coach Mandee Craft.  "Overall, though, they were just more consistent."

Geneva will return to action on Monday when the men host Saint Vincent for a 4:00 p.m. match on Blackhawk Courts.
