Football Can’t Find any Success at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. – It was a tough day for the Geneva College football team at W&J on Saturday afternoon.  The Golden Tornadoes could not find any success against the reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) champions, with the Presidents shutting out Geneva 55-0.

Things were a challenge right from the start.  The Presidents scored twice in the first quarter and three more times in the second quarter to take a 35-0 lead into the break, and the offense never found any positives, unable to get on the scoreboard before the final horn sounded.

The offense managed just 56 yards of total offense, compared to 648 for the Presidents.  Junior Noah Hutcherson led the team with 11 tackles, while junior AJ Baker added ten stops.  Senior Coltin Hill and sophomore Jayce Mauger each chipped in with nine tackles apiece.

Geneva will try to shake things off and prepare for next Saturday's Homecoming matchup against Hiram, the Golden Tornadoes' first home game in five weeks.  The kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m.
