BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College women's lacrosse team hosted Mount Aloysius for its home opener on Saturday at Wright Fields, and the Golden Tornadoes showed progress from its season opener last week at Pitt-Bradford before falling 15-4 to the Mounties.
Mount Aloysius scored the first two goals of the match before junior Julianna Easley scored off an assist from sophomore Taylor Robinson.
The Mounties netted the next four goals before Robinson found the net in the middle of the second quarter.
Easley added goals in the third quarter, off an assist from sophomore Alyse Smith, and an unassisted goal in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring for Geneva.
Easley supplied seven shots for the offense, scoring three times. Robinson added a goal and assist, while Smith had a big day with six draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Sophomore Lexi Lee posted 16 saves in goal for the women, while also grabbing five ground balls.
The women will be back in action on Wednesday with a home game against La Roche at 4:00 p.m. on Wright Fields.
