Lacrosse Drops Match at Division II Ferrum

FERRUM, Va. – The Geneva College women's lacrosse team opened its Spring Break week with a 23-3 loss at Division II Ferrum College.

Junior Mara Fowlow scored the lone Geneva goal in the first half late in the second quarter on a free position shot as Ferrum took an 11-1 lead into halftime.

Geneva added goals in the second half by junior Julianna Easley and sophomore Taylor Robinson, off an assist from senior Brianna Thompson. 

Fowlow and Robinson both finished with three shots, while Fowlow added three draw controls.  Senior Hannah Skwarek picked up four ground balls.

Junior Lexi Lee and freshman Anarosa Cunningham split the goalkeeper duties.  Lee made six saves, while Cunningham posted four stops.

The women will return to action on Wednesday with a road match at William and Peace, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
