Chatham Too Much for Women’s Lacrosse

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva women's lacrosse team hosted Chatham University at Wright Fields on Saturday, falling to the Cougars 22-1 on a sunny spring evening. The Cougars went up big in the first quarter and never looked back, handing Geneva the loss. The women's record is now 1-13 overall, 0-5 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).

The Cougars struck early and often in the opening period, netting eight goals in the first 15 minutes to jump way out in front. Junior Julianna Easley scored the only goal for the Golden Tornadoes, hitting the back of the net at the 7:28 mark of the fourth quarter to put the women on the scoreboard. Chatham closed out the match with a 22-1 victory.

Freshman Anarosa Cunningham started in net for the women, making a career-high 13 saves. Junior Mara Fowlow finished with a team-best three caused turnovers.

The women have just three matches remaining, with the next one scheduled for next Saturday, April 18. Geneva travels to Thiel College that day for a 12:00 p.m. start, and will then be at home for their final two matches of the season.
