BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Geneva College men's tennis team celebrated its three seniors on Wednesday night prior to its match against Baldwin Wallace on Blackhawk Courts, with the trio wrapping up their careers at the end of this season. The Yellow Jackets swept the match, 7-0, in the final non-conference contest of the season for the Golden Tornadoes.
The men will have some big holes to replace seniors
Braiden Smalley and
Owen Landis, along with
Thayne Bodenmiller, who is wrapping up his career a season early after he graduates in December, a semester early. Smalley, with 31 career singles wins, is the all-time leader since the program was restarted in 2015, and Landis and Bodenmiller have been keep contributors as well throughout their time as a Golden Tornado.
Geneva will try to rebound next Tuesday when the men travel to Franciscan for a 4:00 p.m. start. The Golden Tornadoes are still in good position to qualify for the upcoming Presidents' Athletic Conference playoffs, which start in two weeks.
