Geneva College Athletics

Four years ago today (September 5), the Geneva Men’s Tennis program had their first match after a 18 year hiatus. Jesse Hooke was instrumental in the growth of this new program, now in its fifth year. Jesse served his team as a Captain for two seasons, and helped build a firm foundation of hard work, unity, character, commitment and faith that are still hallmarks of our program. 

Hooke says, "My time at Geneva College was nothing short of amazing. It included four years of learning, growing and being challenged by others and myself. Before college, I continually tried to fulfill my own desires, but God taught me to have a deeper trust in Him to provide. Throughout that journey, He provided me with lifelong friends, a new major of study after my sophomore year, on-campus jobs, an off-campus internship, leadership opportunities and a new tennis team where I could serve as "Captain Hooke." As a result of playing tennis for Geneva, I matured in my understanding of brotherhood, leadership and sacrifice. I look back on my time in college and cannot help but think where I may be without all of my caring professors, advisors, employers and coaches. What I value most about my time at Geneva are the never-ending opportunities they gave me to learn and succeed even while balancing school, work and athletics. I am a better tennis player, person and servant of the Lord because of my time at Geneva College."
