Ignacio Villalobos

Assistant Coach - Ignacio Villalobos (Iggy)

Ignacio Villalobos (Iggy) joins the Golden Tornadoes coaching staff for the second year entering the 2015 season. He brings with him five years of college ball experience and two years of coaching U21 baseball in Canada with the Brantford Junior Braves (2012, 2013). While coaching in 2012 and 2013, Villalobos played in the semi-pro baseball league Intercounty as a Kitchener Panther.

A Mexico City, Mexico native, Villalobos grew up in Brantford, Ontario, Canada where he attended and played baseball at Niagara County Community College for two years. He then transferred to Houghton in 2011 and finished his senior year on the baseball squad as co-captain with fellow Geneva baseball’s assistant coach Kameron Konert.

In 2013, Villalobos stayed at Houghton as an assistant baseball coach for the Highlanders. In 2014 he enrolled in Geneva’s Higher Education program after obtaining a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Houghton.

Villalobos and his wife, Jamie, reside is Beaver Falls.
