Brandon Napoleon beginning his first season as an assistant football coach, in charge of defensive backs. He comes from Midwestern State (Wichita Falls, TX) where he was a graduate assistant in charge of defensive back for a short stint.
Napoleon is coming off of a successful run in 2019 at NCAA Division III Susquehanna in Selinsgrove, Pa. where he helped the Riverhawks to a 10-1 record, including an 88-24 win over Wilkes in the Fifth Annual Centennial-MAC Bowl Series. He mentored cornerbacks and coached kick and punt returners.
Napoleon enjoyed a successful collegiate playing career weaving his way through the Big XII at West Virginia, then Northern Iowa, before making a pair of NAIA stops at Georgetown College and Kansas Wesleyan.
He played in 10 games as a redshirt freshman at West Virginia in 2013 primarily on special teams, while also serving as a reserve cornerback.
He spent a season at Northern Iowa in 2015, but did not see any action before making his way to Georgetown College in Kentucky. Napoleon made 35 tackles and three interceptions for the Tigers, while also amassing 12 pass breakups in 2016.
He finished his career by playing 11 games at Kansas Wesleyan where he made 20 tackles and intercepted four passes, returning one for a touchdown. The Coyotes finished with an 8-3 record while competing in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) in 2017.
The Rahway, N.J. native starred at St. Peter's Prep High as a two-year, two-way starter at quarterback and defensive back before tracing his father's footsteps to West Virginia. His father, Eugene Napoleon, rushed for 1,001 yards in a three-year career with the Mountaineers from 1987-89. He was a member of WVU's 11-1 squad which fell to national champion Notre Dame in the 1989 Fiesta Bowl.
Brandon Napoleon earned a communications degree from Kansas Wesleyan in 2018.
