Assistant Head Coach - Tom Contenta
Beginning his coaching career at Geneva in 2007, the former standout player for the Golden Tornadoes quickly climbed his way up the coaching ladder and become one of DeMarco's top assistants. He currently serves as the program's Defensive Coordinator, coaching defensive backs as well.
Formerly one of Geneva's most competitive players on a defense that led the team to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship series, Contenta has now become one of the most relentless recruiters in the region. As Recruiting Coordinator, Contenta has taken the Golden Tornado marketing strategy to a new level, bringing in some of the largest recruiting classes in program history. His example of work ethic is classic and his passion for Geneva College is unsurpassed. Along with his football duties, Coach Contenta is also an instructor in the physical education department at Geneva.
From 2002-2005 Contenta roamed the Geneva secondary as a defensive back. His stellar career was capped by earning four letters, All-Conference, and NCCAA All-American honors.
Contenta graduated from Geneva College with a Bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry in 2006. After graduation, Contenta began his coaching career at his high school alma mater, New Brighton, in 2006.
Tommy and his wife Chelsea reside in New Brighton with their children Ethan, Isaiah and Blakelynn.
