Nate Heidengren

Nate Heidengren was hired in June 2025 to serve as both the Geneva men's and women's tennis head coach.

“We are very excited to welcome Coach Heidengren to the Geneva family,” says Director of Athletics Van Zanic.  “He has a clear understanding of Geneva College, both on and off the court.  Nate is well positioned to move the program forward and continue the mission and commitment that Coach Craft developed over the last couple of decades.”

Heidengren is a familiar face to Geneva College Athletics.  He was a standout tennis player for the men’s team from 2018 through 2022 while playing under Coach Craft, earning First Team All-PAC honors each of his last two seasons with the Golden Tornadoes.

Heidengren graduated with a degree in student ministries in 2021, along with a minor in Sports Coaching, and has stayed involved in tennis after his playing days at Geneva concluded.  He was hired as the assistant tennis coach at Beaver Area High School in the spring of 2022, and the following year he was promoted to head coach of the boys’ program the following year where he served for two years.  Heidengren also served as an assistant for the girls’ team at Beaver before moving to Riverside last fall, serving as the girls’ assistant coach.  In addition to those roles, Heidengren works at Seven Oaks Country Club as an assistant tennis and pickle ball pro.

“It’s an incredible honor to return to Geneva in this new role,” says Heidengren.  “I care deeply about this program and the players, and I’m excited to build a culture of excellence both on and off the court.  My goal is to help our student-athletes grow in their faith, develop as people and reach their fullest potential through the sport of tennis.”
