NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – It's been a tough couple of weeks for the Geneva College women's tennis team as the Golden Tornadoes have gone through the top of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) teams. Those struggles continued on Friday night at undefeated Westminster, with the Titans sweeping Geneva 9-0. That match was the last PAC match of the season for the Golden Tornadoes. Westminster improved to 6-0, 4-0 in the PAC, while Geneva dropped to 1-6, 1-6 in the PAC.
"Even though the score might not reflect a good match, we truly fought until the end," said Head Coach Mandee Craft. "You can see our fight in the fact that four of us got more points in our second set than our first set, so I'm proud of our fight."
The women will be in action next Tuesday, October 5, with a 4:00 p.m. match at Waynesburg. Geneva has faced the Yellow Jackets already this season, which is the women's lone win this fall, so this second match will not count in the conference standings.
